Counting to 20 – We had to count to 20 as a group, in a random order, without getting two people saying the same number at the same time. How did you feel this went? I feel that It was going well although I seemed to notice that it was me and three other people that were saying the numbers so no matter how hard we tried to not be in an order we were always in an order. The point of this exorcise is to gain trust and concentration.

Counting and Walking – As a group, we had to count out loud from 1 – 10, over and over, whilst walking around the room, maintaining the same rhythm.
At the sound of a clap, you count on in your head. On the second clap, you continue to count out loud again. Objective – keep in time so that you’re all on the same number when you start counting out loud again.

‘Categories’ – Each member of the group contributes a word in the given category as we go round the circle with the following constraints: the new word has to begin with the last letter of the previous word; the new word must be delivered on the second click of a ‘slap-clap-click-click’ rhythm.

‘Zombies’ – Name game.

‘Simultaneous Story-Telling’- Partners tell each other a story simultaneously. Then each person must relate the story he or she has heard back to the other.

‘Walk the Line’ – Volunteers walk across the space. They are given instructions, told to react to something at the halfway point. The walk is instructions, told to react to something at the halfway point. The walk is repeated after advice is given on ways of producing the same effect more naturalistically. (Scenarios – ‘You see something that makes you want to vomit’; ‘you see something you shouldn’t have seen’; ‘you are walking across a narrow bridge, traversing a volcano’; ‘You are walking in water and you don’t know what’s in there with you’; You are walking in pitch darkness’)

‘Walk the Line’ – Everyone takes part. This time, walking as a character, having been given some brief details on personality traits, reacting to an imaginary Scenario (seeing someone you dislike, want to avoid etc.).
Reactions adjusted according to the scale of 1- 10, with 10 being fill-blown melodrama.

‘1 - 10 intensity levels’ – Two Scenarios – ‘Stepping in dog poo’ and ‘Getting caught in the rain’ played at different intensities.

‘Traffic Lights’ - Concentration Game.

18th Wednesday – to be continued
Hot seating – We had to ask people out and get to know them as a character we have chosen, I chose Blackadder as I find him funny and I knew a few of his quotes.

25th Wednesday
5 facts about Stanislavski - presented in an over the top manner

Stealth game - we had to walk around the room and try and avoid the person we picked as our enemy. We did this game two more times except we change the rules each time. One of the rules was that we had to keep someone in between you and the enemy; the second rule was that you had to keep the same amount of distance away from the other person and still keep walking around the room but the story did change to where you had to pretend that you liked this girl or boy but didn’t want to make it obvious.

Then we made up a character and acted out a normal day in their life (private in public)

Then we used our characters in two situations: 1. Shopping 2. Stuck on a tube train in a tunnel

Wednesday 2nd October
Weeping angels

1. We had to steal keys from beneath the chair, allowing one person to sneak at a time, while everyone else stood the opposite side of the room and watched you had to do this without being heard or the person sat on the chair would shout stop and you would have to start again.

2. We had to touch the chair in which the person was sitting facing towards the wall, the person sat down was allowed to turn around whenever he or she wanted and every time they were looking at you, you had to stay completely still or you were out. You were all allowed to go at the same time.

Pause - forgot to write notes.

Acting games played.

Count Jump.

We had to stand in two rows, 2 people wide. The pair at the front of the rows had to jump up and down saying numbers 1 - 5 turning around at 5 (clockwise) this continues down the line until you get to the end pair who do the same but have to turn back counting 1 - 4 and then this continues down the line towards the front - when it comes to the front people they count 1 - 4 then turn back round counting 1 -3 which also continues down the line. ??? error ??? - Something not quite right with this?

Super Power guess?

We had to get one person to go out the room, while we selected a certain select few to have super powers or believe something that was untrue which were chosen by other people and then the person who went out the room came back in and became the host of a party and had to guess what the superpower or thoughts were of the guest that came in as we had to come in one by one allowing him/her to guess individually. My role in this was to play a guy who believed he was taller than everyone else, I was a giant. however, I found this part really hard to play so I decided instead of playing someone who was literally taller than everyone I would make up puns making the other person feel smaller and giving my character a bit of a sarcastic, mean attitude.
